Where is Woodmont Day Camp?

Woodmont is located at 420 Phillips Hill Road in New City, New York. We are ideally located 1/4 of a mile from exit 11 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, just 25 minutes from Manhattan, 20 minutes from Westchester and 15 minutes from Northern New Jersey.

Who works at Woodmont?

Woodmont counselors are intelligent, dedicated, fun, energetic, creative and dependable people. Our staff is a wonderful blend of educators, graduate and college students, high school graduates and those who have completed their junior year of high school. There are limited positions available for those who have completed their sophomore year of high school.

Where do most campers come from?

Most of our campers travel to camp via camp transportation and live locally in Rockland County, Bergen County/Northern New Jersey, Westchester County and New York City.

When does the camp season begin and when does it end?

The first day of camp is June 27, 2024 and the last is August 22, 2024. We are closed on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th in observance of Independence Day.

What is a typical day like at Woodmont?

While each day at Woodmont is a unique experience, each day begins with arrival at approximately 9:00AM. Morning Rally, a time when the entire camp comes together to sing songs, cheer and celebrate the day, begins at 9:15AM. Activities run from 9:30AM to 3:45PM. The day concludes with snack and departure. Each day’s activities include a balance of our five Key Program Areas: Swim, Athletics, Creative Arts and Performing Arts, and Adventure.

What is the ratio of campers to staff?

Every group of approximately 10-15 campers has 2-3 counselors depending on age. Campers who have not yet entered Kindergarten will have at least 3 counselors, 1 of whom is a teacher. Groups travel to specialist-led activities with their counselors. Our ratio ends up being 1:4.
