Job Descriptions
The essence of Woodmont is that everyone does a little bit of everything. You will find that your position often includes things that you never thought you would do: like teaching a child about table manners or singing a silly camp song. While our staff work as a cohesive team, each individual plays their own part in making Woodmont the special place that it is.
Group Counselors
Are responsible for 10-15 campers in a group. During activity periods, you will travel with your group to each activity and assist the Specialists with group dynamics and skills demonstrations. As part of a 2 or 3-person team, you will be responsible for guiding campers through each and every day… its joys, challenges, ups and downs. YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE! By providing encouragement to your campers, you will help lead them to accomplish things they never thought they could.
Village Leaders
Village Leaders Supervise our Group Counselors while working closely with our camp families to ensure their children are reaching their full potential. Each Village Leader is responsible for a specific part of a Village. Village Leaders provide guidance and support to both campers and staff while also organizing Village activities.
Specialists
Are experts in our program areas: Swim, Athletics, Creative and Performing Arts and Adventure. As an Activity Specialist, you will be called on to work with various age groups, group leaders, program heads – just about everyone. You will have an opportunity to share what you can do and teach what you know. You will learn more about your specialty and yourself! You will make “IT” happen. On a typical day, you will see campers from every Village, providing constant positive feedback and guiding campers to strive for excellence in everything they do. Our activity areas include: swim instruction, boating, fishing, go-karts, archery, tennis, basketball, cooking, nature, rock climbing, science, music, ceramics, arts & crafts and more!
Department Heads
Oversee our four core program areas: Swim, Athletics, Creative & Performing Arts, and Adventure. They provide guidance and support in terms of staff and program management and skills instruction.
