Why We Opened

Now more than ever, camp is a crucial part of our children’s development. After a difficult year, camp helped children re-learn independence, decision-making, social and emotional skills, character building and values – all in a nurturing atmosphere under the supervision of positive adult role models.

In today’s pressure-oriented society, camp provides a non-threatening environment kids to be active, to develop competence in life skills, to learn about and enhance their own abilities and to benefit from meaningful participation in a community designed just for them.

Letters From Our Families

We wanted to say thank you for the incredible effort and magic you put in to make camp happen this summer. It’s hard to imagine what 2021 would have looked like if our kids didn’t have the experiences they had or if they didn’t create the new friendships that they made in camp. It was obvious how much work you put into preparations for ensuring safety because to us, it seemed flawless. I think I was in tears on a daily basis because I was so grateful and happy that my children were able to be children again. We hope that you and your family stay safe and healthy during the school year and we cannot wait to see you again in 2022!!

He didn’t have the easiest time at the beginning of quarantine with remote learning and camp was exactly what he needed. Thank you for taking the chance to open and running such a safe, fun, and thoughtful program. Not once did he mention any of the restrictions, and only came home healthy, happy and excited to tell us about all of his adventures and friendships. We’re already counting down the days til next summer!

It meant so much to all of us that you opened camp. It is truly our child’s happy place, she just seems to come alive during the summer and was happier and more excited than I’ve seen her in months. She was beyond thrilled to be back with friends, playing and just having fun. She never once felt it wasn’t a “normal” summer and that meant the world to us.

We wanted to take a moment to thank you and your amazing staff for giving my boys a wonderful experience this summer. We were hesitant to send this summer but after a few days, it was clear that Woodmont was the right choice. After spending months in quarantine, camp gave them a chance to be kids again. We cannot thank you enough for the unimaginable hard work you put in to make this summer possible. Our first year at Woodmont may have not been the “true” Woodmont experience but it was amazing and very special.

Looking forward to next summer already!

Our Thoughts on Summers 2020 & 2021

The summers of 2020 and 2021 were incredible and meaningful summers. So many people questioned if camp could operate safely but WE OPENED AND THRIVED! With proper precautions and protocols, we were able to keep everyone safe and healthy. In a year that tested us all, we helped make camp more exciting, more fun, and more memorable than ever! We were able to give our campers and staff summers they will never forget, a release they needed physically and more importantly, mentally. We cannot wait to do it all again, bigger and better in the summer of 2022!
