Woodmont Gives Back – Project Morry

At Woodmont, we promote our core values of Kindness, Confidence, and Respect every day. We strongly believe in teaching our campers the importance of helping others and the benefit of giving back.

Woodmont is proud to partner with Project Morry, a comprehensive, year-round youth development organization dedicated to empowering children from under-resourced communities to create a positive future.  Founded in 1995, it was inspired by the vision of camping world hero, Morry Stein, who recognized the long-term positive impact camping has on the lives of young people and wanted to share that with all children regardless of economic status.

Project Morry’s nine-year commitment to each child closes the opportunity gap through a combination of academic enrichment and support, leadership development, an exceptional summer camp experience, and one-on-one mentoring.  Youth participate free of charge.

Project Morry changes the outcomes for 400 students annually from the tri-state area by improving opportunities through proven programs: 98% of Project Morry students graduate from high school on time, 85% attend college and 91% of those who attend college graduate.  In addition to their academic success, Project Morry students exemplify our shared values of resilience, personal responsibility, teamwork, and engaged citizenship.

Each summer, our campers participate in our annual Project Morry Swim-a-Thon to raise funds in support of Project Morry and Morry’s Camp. Campers will bring home a certificate indicating the number of laps they swam. We suggest that you sponsor your child “per lap.” All donations should be made payable to Project Morry and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
